Located on High Level Road in Maharagama, Mr Kottu Grand has garnered attention for its generously portioned dishes, with many reviewers praising the quality of its Kottu offerings. Customer Michael Knight raved about the ample servings of both chicken and seafood Kottu, noting that their large orders could easily feed a group of four rather than three. This value, however, comes with a price point that some consider on the high side.
Conversely, Dasitha Wijesundara's experience highlighted a potential inconsistency in portion sizes, as he noted a reduction since his last visit. His feedback about the spice levels reflects a typical culinary dilemma; while many enjoy heat, he found the Chicken Rice Kottu excessively spicy, impacting his overall enjoyment. His experience suggests that while the food quality is generally commendable, patrons’ individual preferences for spice might need clearer communication, especially for regular customers.
Overall, Mr Kottu Grand - Maharagama seems to deliver hearty and satisfying meals, perfect for groups, with room for improvement regarding spice consistency. Whether you're after a casual meal or a family feast, expect flavor and generosity at this establishment.

Based on 769 reviewsMr Kottu Grand - Maharagama is widely praised for its generous portion sizes and high-quality kottu dishes, particularly the chicken and masala cheese variants. Many customers appreciate the flavorful, satisfying meals that often exceed expectations, making it suitable for group dining. While some note that prices lean towards the higher end, the ample servings are generally seen as good value. The restaurant's service and hospitality receive positive remarks, contributing to an enjoyable overall experience. Although there have been occasional mixed impressions, repeat visits tend to highlight consistency and improved satisfaction. The welcoming atmosphere and authentic flavors make Mr Kottu Grand a popular choice among locals craving traditional Sri Lankan kottu.
I’d say the Kottu was of good quality. Generously served with large portions of chicken during our visit. The prices are in the high end I would say however that is justified with the portion sizes. We ordered a large seafood and chicken cheese along with a small double roast chicken. I’d say it was way too much for three people to finish. It would serve almost four people.
Despite a disappointing first visit to Mr. Kottu Grand Maharagama, we decided to give it another try after spotting the tempting Parata challenge . This time, the experience was different – the food was amazing and comes highly recommended. A big thank you to Nipun for his exceptional hospitality; it made for a great experience.
I went to Maharagama outlet and the food was so good, i am a constant customer of them and this was my first time trying out there masala cheese kottu. To be honest it is one of the best masala kottu I’ve ever had.
Fantastic food, first of all. We tried a Chicken Rice kottu and that was delicious. Along with the gravy, that has to be one of the best kottus i ever had. I tried a chees kottu from the other Kottu Grand,it was average. Yet,this one is absolutely gorgeous. The vibe is okay. The service is fantastic. Will definitely try the Rice Kottu again.
Every bite feels like home.Mr koththu is the best place for your koththu craving.
I have visited Mr. Kottu in Maharagama 4 to 5 times, and I must say the food is truly amazing and very tasty. I highly recommend it! The place is very clean, and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Last week, we visited again, and one of the staff members gave my son a balloon. When it accidentally popped, she kindly gave him another one, which made him so happy. It’s little gestures like these that make this place special. Great food, great service!"
New : Visited after 1 year and ordered Chicken Roast Kottu. No complains on kottu. Seems potion size is reduced. Had the same feeling on Pannipitiya Branch as well. Mojito : Ok for the price. Not the best quality. Old : We ordered Chicken Rice Kottu and it was extra spicy . We usually eat spicy food but this is way too spicy. Couldn't enjoy the meal. When I asked the staff, they said this is their normal spicy level. We usually go to Pannipitiya restaurant. Didn't face such a problem.
First time I ordered Mr.Kottu in 2022. It was the most worst Kottu experience I had in my life. It was a very dried kottu. But I ate Mr.Kottu for the second time yesterday. I just want to try how is the taste now. So I went to Mr.Kottu Maharagama Outlet and ordered Chicken Kottu And a Cheese Chicken Kottu. After I ate those. Mm, very delicious food. They actually Improved the taste, Improved the Faults in their Foods. Normal Chicken kottu was too spicy and it has a lot of chicken. Also chicken Cheese kottu was so creamy and cheesy and Also was very hot. If you want to try Kottu from Mr.Kottu please go to an outlet and try it. (Dine in experience of those foods are very fresh and delicious) Here is my full Review Place, Environment Clean Place Fresh Air Eye Catching place Foods & Drinks Delicious Chicken Kottu is too Spicy Iced cofee is so delicious Cheese chicken kottu is creamy and sweet For Prices and Customer care Customer Care is good Quickly fullfill our oders 30% charged for service !!Price is little bit high (postions are not worthy sometimes) Overall (7/10) Recommended ( for Dine in )
We were a bit skeptical about going to a Mr. Kottu outlet after seeing all the reviews on Facebook. But a friend said that the Maharagama outlet is okay and so we decided to go for dinner. First impressions were good as the restaurant as a nice cozy vibe to it. Very well lit. A good place for couples too. And of course, it's kids friendly. We ordered a Large Chicken Cheese Kottu (1,500), a Large Chicken Rice Kottu (1,300) and a Large Chicken Masala Cheese Kottu (1,600). That Cheese Kottu was one of the best I've ever had. Had a lot of Cheese in it and was very creamy. Had a reasonable amount of chicken as well. The Chicken Rice Kottu was a new experience for me. Don't get me wrong I've had Kottu and Fried Rice together before. But this wasn't a mixture of two different dishes. And it was so damn tasty. Even better than the Cheese Kottu. Had a lot of meat as well. Easily my favourite of the three. The Masala Kottu on the other hand is a different story. It also had a generous amount of Cheese and Chicken and was also very creamy. But I didn't really like the way it smelled and the taste was a bit weird. Perhaps because I am not used to Indian spices? I don't know. But I wouldn't recommend that to anyone anytime soon. They have lots of different dishes all of which are based on Kottu. Pasta Kottu, Noodle Kottu, Rice Kottu.. you name it, they've got it. And the prices of all these dishes are between 800 and 2,000 LKR for large portions. A bit expensive compared to most restaurants but I guess that's how things are these days. They charge a 10% service charge on top of your bill but I don't think their service justify that extra 10%. They don't even give you a glass of water unless you ask them. You probably have to buy water bottles from them. Not sure about this though. However, the entire staff is very friendly and helpful. And another important thing is that this restaurant is open until midnight. So, if you're in the area or just passing through and looking for a quick bite, this is the place. Meal preparation takes only about 10 minutes and the food is delicious. I highly recommend you give this restaurant a try with an open mind. You'll be surprised.
The prawn cheese kottu dish was in a good taste. Not much interested with the taste of the watermelon juice. A good place. Recommending this dish
